The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Teaser Debuts, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination shared the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. It was showcased in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the outer limits of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a fresh princess character and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
An Interstellar Journey Based on Beloved Titles
Much like the games from the Wii period that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a breakout star from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his sibling Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who apparently wields metal-based powers. Interestingly, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow
The movie will feature once again of the primary vocal talent, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
A Big Year for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut near the 40th anniversary of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his allies.
Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for 2026, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
