Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Rocket League: But It's Not the Car Fans Are Hoping For
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole place where fans can experience the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to Rocket League, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in Fortnite. However, whether players will actually want to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield car the community is eager to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
What Fans Really Want
While many players would absolutely enjoy to compete while driving The Homer—the notoriously impractical car Homer built personally in the classic installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the massive SUV, the enormous truck featured in season 10. Rather, fans will obtain the family's everyday well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an recognizable symbol of the series. And for players who analyze the game's vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the sole cosmetic from the series arriving in Rocket League. The event will additionally feature a series of challenges to unlock additional rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a press release, the challenges will require participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and drive a distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
Although the complete list of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced so far:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it seems fans will also get rims with a television showing the show's opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts themed to burning tires and Krusty Burger.
