Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles struck the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
