Football Recap: Denver Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning go-ahead field goal to secure the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

In spite of their dismal offensive display, the Jets maintained the ball with a chance to score a possible victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach commented following the game.
